Jeep-Boat-Jeep is a combination of ground and water transportation used as a shortcut between Monteverde and La Fortuna / Arenal Volcano.
Also known as: Taxi-Boat-Taxi or Van-Boat-Van
Because there is no direct road connecting Arenal/La Fortuna to Monteverde, traveling by road takes 3.5 hours on slow mountain roads and around Lake Arenal, with long steep climbs on gravel roads.
The Jeep-Boat-Jeep is faster and a lot more pleasant than driving around the lake. It takes you across the lake in comfortable, covered motor boats. Enjoy the scenic landscape at a relaxed pace. Originally done with 4×4 vehicles, the “jeep” sections of the trip are done today with air conditioned mini-vans. There is plenty of room for your luggage
One ticket includes the three legs:
1- Drive 20-25 minutes from your hotel in Arenal/La Fortuna to Lake Arenal
2- Boat trip across the lake 40 minutes at slow speed with time to take pictures of the volcano and the birds
3- Drive from Lake Arenal to Monteverde 1.5 hour
You may choose the departure time between: 7:00 am and 4:00 pm
Jeep-Boat-Jeep is not operated by Morpho Vans, but we make reservations for our clients who use it as part of their itineraries. We monitor the Operator to make sure everything works smoothly for you.
